There are three steps to completing a GSP certified building. The first step is to register your project. After filling out the registration form, you will receive the rating system that is most appropriate to your building type. The second step, and most important, is to complete the rating form and submit it with any supporting documentation or photos for assessment. Once your documentation has been assessed by our staff, you will receive your certification designation and materials for implementation of any education activities as well as the plaque to be displayed in your facility. You may then use your new designation as a marketing tool for your facility.
If at any time you have questions about the rating system or your qualification for a specific section, you may call and talk to someone directly about it or email questions to us if they are not answered in the Common Questions section of the website. We will walk you through the process and help you understand the documentation that will be needed to support your claim. Green Space Project™ is primarily an “honor” based system. We do require documentation to support your claims such as photos, receipts and work orders, but we do not require such task intensive information that it will be impossible for you to attain the credit. It serves no one to falsify information on a submittal just to achieve a designation nor to put undue documentation burdens on you. The goal is not to receive the plaque, but to make your facility the most sustainable and cost efficient space that it can be. We want for you to save money while you are saving the environment.
If you would prefer to have a third party assist with your filing paperwork or assessment, we will be happy to work with you to find an appropriate party to fill your needs. Whether you would like to use an architect, an interior designer, or a systems analyst for a particular part of your project we will help you to acquire the most appropriate consultant for you. We will also work directly with consultants of your choice to assist in the completion of the assessment. We hope that our process is easy enough that anyone could perform it and there is no need to take a test to understand how to fill out the GSP assessment.
